PSG and Barcelona are also supposed to be interested in the youngster, but the Bavarian outfit could be in the driving seat. This is because they are willing to loan the midfielder back to the Italian team for a season after they sign him.

The Brazilian is apparently rated at £30 million, and with so much interest in the player it is likely that a big bid will indeed be needed to tempt him away from the Stadio Olimpico. The fact that he has also recently signed a contract running until 2020 won’t help the sides chasing his signature.

The 22-year-old has had a great campaign for Le Aquile, scoring 10 goals in 28 Serie A appearances to fire them in to third and a potential place in the Champions League at the expense of the more fancied Napoli. This impressive form will be what has piqued the European giants’ interest.

Having missed out on Memphis Depay to Manchester United though, Liverpool will be desperate to secure another one of their top targets.
