The Blues are the latest big side to show an interest in the in-form Belgian international, who has looked back to his brilliant best this season after returning from a lengthy injury layoff.
The 24-year-old has scored 14 goals in 26 games for Villa this season, including a crucial goal in the FA Cup semi-final win over Liverpool to set up a final clash with Arsenal at Wembley.
A similar style of forward to Chelsea legend Didier Drogba, Benteke is now supposedly on Jose Mourinho’s radar for the summer as the champions eye more depth upfront, according to the Daily Star.
With Chelsea relying on injury-prone pair Diego Costa and Loic Remy, there’s no doubt Benteke would be a useful addition to provide another option in that position.
