Dani Alves: Barcelona make 11th hour bid to keep hold of Manchester United target
The Brazil international, who is a long-term Manchester United target according to the Daily Mail, is out of contract this summer and is yet to put pen to paper on a fresh deal.
However, Rexach told Cope Radio: “I am convinced that Dani Alves will continue at the club.”
United are likely to embark on another summer recruitment drive when the transfer window opens, and had earmarked the 31-year-old as the man to slot in at right-back or right wing-back, ahead of injury-prone compatriot Rafael, who has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford.
Alves is thought to be holding out for a three-year contract extension, which the Catalan giants have stalled on over the last few months, but an agreement seems to be closer and the fact that a Barca official is confident enough to publicly predict he will stay suggests United may have to pursue other targets.
