Manchester United place Gareth Bale ahead of Memphis Depay as top summer transfer priority

The Spaniard has been linked to a move to the Bernabeu recently with his contract with the Red Devils finishing at the end of next season. Also, with Los Blancos being threatened by a transfer ban according to The Guardian, any move may have to go through this summer before a ruling is made.

United could expect to get £50 million for the 24-year-old, who has helped them to a respectable 34 goals conceded from 34 games in the Premier League. This is made more impressive by the numerous injuries and losses of form the Old Trafford outfit’s defenders have had this season.

Apparently the keeper told friends that he wanted a move to the La Liga giants as early as October, and there could be little standing in his way if he refuses to sign a new deal to play under Louis van Gaal. With Victor Valdes already at the club, the Dutchman already has a replacement in place should his star decide to leave.
