Gundogan to Man Utd: Five facts as Reds close to signing quality Borussia Dortmund star
The Daily Mirror have claimed that the Germany international is close to a transfer to the Red Devils, and he could be the first of many big money moves by the Old Trafford outfit this summer. However, Carragher has doubted the logic behind signing the BVB star.
The 24-year-old recently had to spend a year on the sidelines with a back injury, and has been part of a Dortmund team that has struggled this season. Although they have now made it up to ninth in the Bundesliga, the team were in the relegation zone as late as January. However, he has made 19 appearances in the league this season, perhaps going against the claim that he can’t get into the side.
With rumours circulating about the Bundesliga star, the Anfield favourite decided to wind up his fellow Sky Sports pundit and former playing rival Gary Neville with this cheeky tweet. The United hero had been asking for a translation of a German tweet about the potential transfer.
@GNev2 @SkySportNewsHD Looks like your signing a crock who can’t get a game for Dortmund.
