Manchester United loanee Javier Hernandez scored a last minute winner to take Real Madrid through to the Champions League semi-finals after a 1-0 win over local rivals Atletico Madrid.

The Mexico international was only playing in the match because Karim Benzema was out with an injury, and looked poor for much of the 90 minutes. However, the poacher popped up when it mattered, and put away the all important goal. The 26-year-old had an open goal to put the ball in to after Cristiano Ronaldo did much of the work.

Atleti may feel hard done by after Arda Turan was sent off for a second yellow card not long before they went behind. Los Blancos defender Sergio Ramos has been accused of making too much of a foul by the Turkey international.

The Galacticos will now face one of Barcelona, Juventus, or Bayern Munich in the semi finals of the competition. It is the 26th time in their history that the Bernabeu based side have made it to this stage.
