Nathaniel Clyne wants to join Manchester United
The Manchester Evening News reports that United fanatic Mohsin Tanveer handed the wishlist to the Dutchman at a charity event. It included the likes of Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale, PSV Eindhoven forward Memphis Depay and Southampton defender Nathaniel Clyne.
Moshin, 24, even told van Gaal how much money each player would cost, and that acquiring all of his favourite non-United players would cost £300m.
The law student, who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, met the boss at an event organised by the Manchester United Foundation. Fans with the life-limiting illness met players and staff and watched a training session.
All eyes will be on van Gaal and the United board of directors this summer to see whether they replicate or even surpass last year’s spending, led by the arrival of winger Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid in a British record £59.7m deal.
After making a slow start under the head coach the three-time European Cup winners look a cohesive unit once more, and have won crucial high-profile fixtures against Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Manchester City to put them on the brink of Champions League qualification.
However, Di Maria’s failure to establish himself at Old Trafford may cause anxiety at boardroom level if van Gaal requests more big-money buys from overseas.
