Liverpool transfer news
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard blames nerves for FA Cup semi-final exit at the hands of Aston Villa
This comes after Liverpool were apparently ahead in the race to sign the 21-year-old according to Dutch paper De Telegraaf. Already fans have likened the situation to when the Reds missed out on signing Alexis Sanchez to Arsenal and Mohamed Salah to Chelsea in recent years. This has only made things worse for the Merseyside club after they lost in the FA Cup semi-finals on Sunday.
The Red Devils have likely moved quickly to get their man because of the Dutchman’s brilliant form this season. He has scored 20 goals in 27 appearances for PSV. Not only that, but he also impressed under now United boss Louis van Gaal for the Netherlands in the World Cup last summer.
The Old Trafford faithful have been jubilant at this news…

While Liverpool supporters have been left feeling bitter at their transfer luck…
Liverpool set to miss out on Depay and are at crossroads, both with fees and wages. Unless pay a certain level they’ll fall further behind.

Depay would be a great signing. Shame we won’t act like the big club we are and get him. It’ll be the same story as Sanchez, Salah etc.

Utd on the verge of getting Depay whilst we can’t even agree a fee or wages???? we are a joke. No worries Rodgers will get us Milner and Ings!!

We won’t get Depay because we won’t pay both the transfer fee and his wages, yet we’ll happily give £50 to Southampton. Yes. Very good.
