Liverpool’s surprise 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley provoked strong reaction from fans on social media site Twitter.
Playmaker Philippe Coutinho opened the scoring for the Reds after half-an-hour, but efforts from Villa’s Christian Benteke and Fabian Delph ended the Merseysiders’ dream of reaching the final.
It also left Liverpool head coach Brendan Rodgers still without a piece of silverware to his name in his managerial career, and some supporters called for his removal after the defeat, with one suggesting outgoing Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp should take his place.
Here is how Twitter reacted to the result:
#RodgersOUT #KloppIN I wonder?
3 years and still no trophy for Brendan, that hasn't happened to a Liverpool manager in over half a century"

Love Gerrard and all he has done for Liverpool but I don't want to see him play another competitive minute for Pool again.
