According to the Daily Star, the Magpies are keen admirers of the highly-rated striker, who has become highly thought of at Old Trafford despite struggling to break into the starting lineup on a regular basis.
Still only 19, there is plenty of time for Wilson to build on his twelve appearances and two goals in all competitions this term, but it may be that he would benefit from a season out on loan at a team like Newcastle, where he could start more games and gain valuable experience at the very top level of the game.
United spent big on new signings last summer and may do so again this year, meaning Wilson would find it even harder to get the playing time he needs to continue his development as part of the Red Devils squad.
