Club Universitario moved to the top of Group 3 in the Copa Libertadores thanks to a comfortable 2-0 win over Venezuelan side Mineros de Guayana on Tuesday night.

Club Universitario have only qualified for the knock-out stages of South America’s most prestigious tournament once before, but as long as they avoid defeat in their final group game against Cruzeiro next week they are guaranteed to progress.
They took the lead on the stroke of half time thanks to a David Castro strike before Miguel Suarez made sure of the win in the 85th minute.
Universitario will feel justice has been done after the Bolivian FA refused to reschedule a domestic game last weekend.
