Manchester United legend Eric Cantona has backed his old club to reclaim the Premier League title next season and indicated that the fight for fourth is only a stepping stone for future success, the Frenchman told the Daily Express.
After a horrendous campaign last year where they finished seventh, the target this term was to get back into the Champions League which is integral for any top club.
However, with manager Louis van Gaal finally settled on a system and a first XI, the aim next season will surely be to get Man United back to the pinnacle of English football, something Cantona believes is inevitable.

“Yeah, I think so. But United’s a great club, so sometimes you have a season when you have to lose games and you finish fourth, fifth,” Cantona said.
“But it’s a great club. It will be at the top of the table. And they came back and next year they can win the league.”
Manchester United take on league leaders Chelsea this Saturday and despite their hopes of catching the Blues being minimal, the game will indicate how far Louis van Gaal’s side have come and, more importantly, how close they are to achieving the overall aim of winning the Premier League.
