The Spanish international is no longer a regular at the Bernabeu, making just seven La Liga starts this term, and is apparently ready to quit the Spanish giants this summer.
The Metro claims the defender is available for a fee of just £3.6m, which in today’s transfer market is an absolute bargain.
Carlo Ancelotti has opted to use Dani Carvajal as his first choice in the right-back role and at his age Arbeloa is perhaps keen to make the most of what remains of his career.
Arbeloa left Liverpool for Real Madrid in July 2009 and has made a total of 215 appearances for the club and may well be tempted by a move back to the Premier League.
Thus far this term Arsene Wenger has used the likes of Mathieu Debuchy, Calum Chambers, and most recently, Hector Bellerin, in the right-back slot and as such there doesn’t appear to be a pressing need to beef up numbers in that position though Arbeloa is also capable of playing in a left-back role if needs be.
