Aston Villa news
Aston Villa had gone one goal down after just seven minutes against QPR in their crucial relegation six pointer at Villa Park, but Christian Benteke equalised only three minutes later to cue crazy scenes in Birmingham, for Villans fans and gilets alike.
Despite seeming to get the best out of Christian Benteke, who had misfired for the majority of the season under former manager Paul Lambert, Sherwood has been unable to lift his side away from the dreaded bottom three in the league, as they look to avoid relegation to the Championship.
Prior to the game, the Birmingham side stood just two points above the Premier League relegation zone, with QPR sitting in 19th and three points behind Sherwood’s side, making the game huge for both teams.
