The Bundesliga side are unlikely to qualify for next year’s Champions League after a terrible first half of the season saw them sink into the relegation zone. Despite having since forced their way in to the top ten, they are still 15 points off fourth with only seven games left in the season. They lost 1-0 to rivals Bayern Munich on Saturday.

The World Cup winner has admitted that he wants to play abroad at some point in the future, and both Premier League sides have expressed an interest according to the report. They may well have a chance after these quotes.

Hummels said: “That doesn’t mean that I am leaving, it just means I’m reflecting. There’s no particular tendency one way or the other. It’s just thoughts going through my mind. It will all become clearer in the coming weeks.”

The 26-year-old nearly moved to Hoffenheim in 2007 and turned it down because of a ‘gut feeling’. He said that: “It’s going to be the same again this time.”
