The Brazilian was a key performer in their win over their fierce rivals, with the goal courtesy of former Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski. They are now ten points clear at the top of the league, and just four wins away from their third Bundesliga title in a row.
Dante had only played 51 minutes in the last two months for Bayern before playing for the whole match on the weekend.
Guardiola said: “I can only congratulate my team, especially Dante in defence. I would like to dedicate this victory to him. He’s not played much recently, but he’s an incredibly important player for us. I’d love to have 1,000 Dantes in my team.”
The German side have another difficult game away against Bayer Leverkusen next up, although their massive lead in the league means they can probably afford to drop points.
