Given the poor form shown by last summer’s signings Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli it’s perhaps no surprise that the Anfield manager would be considering bids for new recruits.

The fact that Daniel Sturridge has struggled with injuries and form is perhaps further motivation behind an attacking shake-up.

Rodgers is apparently interested, perhaps surprisingly, in bringing in Man United’s loaned in forward Radamel Falcao.

The Daily Express claim that the Colombian is also being courted by Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan, this despite the fact the 29 year old has netted just four Premier League goals this season.

Liverpool are also tracking Serie A youngster Paulo Dybala, who has netted 13 goals for Palermo this term, the Argentine apparently having a £29.2m price-tag.

The final member of this trio of apparent attacking targets comes in the form of Burnley’s Danny Ings, with the Daily Express claiming that the Clarets will hope to sell the England Under 21 international to the Merseyside outfit over a potential Real Sociedad switch.

Ings is out of contract in the summer and a move to La Liga would lead to a smaller compensatory fee being garnered by the relegation battlers.
