After receiving a kiss from manager Louis van Gaal on Saturday following his brace in Manchester United’s 3-1 victory against Aston Villa, Ander Herrera has now been labelled a ‘genius’ by teammate Juan Mata.

The former Athletic Bilbao man looks to have settled in England following his summer move and has come into a good run of form over the past month which has coincided with United playing some of their best football of the season and Herrera picked up from where he left off before the international break to spark another win for the Red Devils at the weekend.
His two goals were enough to send United third in the table and those contributions did not go unnoticed by Mata who praised his compatriot in his official blog.
“And two more goals from Ander. I think this is the first time he scores twice in a game and I’m very happy for him!” the former Chelsea man wrote.
“The truth is he deserves it. He is a genius on and off the pitch and I know how happy he was after the game.” he added.
United fans will hope both players can maintain their good form over next two games as they face Manchester City in the derby at Old Trafford on Sunday before a trip to Stamford Bridge for a clash with league leaders Chelsea a week later.
