Manager Louis van Gaal, along with Frans Hoek, Marcel Bout, and Jos van Dijk were all reportedly at the fixture which saw goals from Stefan de Vrij and Davy Klaassen beat the Iberian nation. This is a very large number of Red Devils staff to be at a single match.

According to the Express United have been linked to goalscorer de Vrij, Bruno Martins Indi, Wesley Sneijder, Memphis Depay, Nigel De Jong, and Gregory van der Wiel. Unluckily for the Old Trafford outfit the latter two were stuck on the bench throughout the encounter. The Mancunian side have also been linked to Isco and Pedro, who featured for Spain.

It isn’t too surprising that van Gaal would be interested in numerous players from the Dutch national team having managed them until the end of the World Cup. He guided the side to a third placed finish in Brazil.
