Stefano Castagna has denied reports the Juventus have already agreed terms with his client and says teams from Spain Germany and England, not just Italy are interested in the Brazilian, according to ESPN.
“The only thing that is official is that Neto will not be staying in Florence,” Castagna told Gazzetta TV, via ESPN.
“Since Feb. 1, when it became possible to talk to other clubs, we’ve been evaluating offers that are interesting for the lad, in England, Germany and Spain in addition to Italy.
“One of those in England is Liverpool, and then there is a top Spanish club interested in him. Right now, the lad has to make a well pondered decision for his career.
“He’s young and he’s grown a great deal, but even when he was 18 he was one of the best in Brazil.”
If Neto did move to Juventus he would likely play as understudy to Gianluigi Buffon, despite his senior years, and this would presumably have an impact on his ability to hold down a position in the Brazil squad.
Especially considering new Selecao boss Dunga has already warned him of agreeing to such a move saying: “I can’t imagine seeing Buffon on the bench and Neto in his place. Buffon’s still hungry. A young, talented player needs to be playing, not waiting.” reports ESPN
Goal.com reports that Liverpool had been keen to sign Neto in January after a bid to sign Victor Valdes stalled with Brendan Rodgers keen to find a quality second-choice to Simon Mignolet and presumably someone who could compete with him for the top spot.
With Brad Jones set to exit the club in the summer after his contract expires, Neto looks the top class competition Liverpool need to have complete confidence in their options in goal.
