The 23-year-old managed to secure an England call-up after a fine run of form for the Saints this season, though that has also attracted potential suitors, including the club who poached Luke Shaw from the the St Mary’s side last season.
Southampton are keen to tie down the former Crystal Palace man to a long term deal to warn off any interested parties, though Clyne is said to be not so sure.
The player and his advisors have shelved talks over a new contract until the end of the season, fuelling talks he could be on the brink of leaving.
Clyne is the latest player from the south coast club linked with a move away, having dealt with a summer exodus only a year ago and midfield lynch-pin Morgan Schneiderlin’s also wanting a move away, according to the Mirror, if Southampton don’t finish in the Premier League top four.
