The Belgian playmaker has been one of the stand-out performers in the Bundesliga this season, scoring 14 goals and weighing in with 24 assists in all competitions and looking like potentially one of the best attacking midfielders in Europe.
Still only 23, De Bruyne looks a real talent and one who could become a world class player for many years to come, with City now keen to get their hands on him for next season.
Having fallen out of this season’s title race in a campaign which will almost certainly finish trophyless for City, Manuel Pellegrini may be under some pressure to rebuild his squad with some big-name signings.
De Bruyne would certainly fit the bill and it seems talks have already begun to bring the ex-Blues ace to the Etihad Stadium in the coming months.
