The Barcelona full-back is available on a free transfer, with his contract in Spain set to expire at the end of the season, but it’s the French champions and Champions League quarter-finalists who, according to Radio Marca, have won the race.
Alves had previously been widely linked with a move to Old Trafford, with the Daily Mail promoting the rumour as recently as Thursday – claiming the Brazilian could be part of a £100m summer spending spree, also involving Mats Hummels and Paul Pogba.
However, Marca now understands that Alves looks set for Paris, with the 31-year-old even beginning house-hunting in the area.
According to the report, the contract was signed on the 10th March. It is believed to be worth nine million euros per season, over the course of a substantial three year deal.
