The Spaniard has made 10 clean sheets for the Red Devils this season and made plenty more world class saves to help his side to fourth place in the table at present.
Impressing week after week has attracted interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid, also claimed by the Express, as they l0ok to replace their misfiring veteran goalkeeper Iker Casillas.
Blind was speaking ahead of his country’s meeting in a friendly against De Gea’s Spain side on Tuesday.
He said, “David is doing a great job here this season. He’s one of the best keepers in the world at the moment.
“We’re very happy that he’s in the goal and he has made some great saves.
“All the credit goes to him. He works very hard and is getting better all the time.
“His shot-stopping is one of his best skills but you also have to look at how he plays [with his feet] and how he comes for crosses – the way he has improved that is very impressive.
“He has got better in every way. The skills when he is saving goals and also the skills with his feet – they make him an all-round keeper and that’s one of the best things about him.”
Manchester United face home games against struggling Aston Villa and bitter city rivals Manchester City, also in the Premier League’s top four, when the players come back after the international break.
The Red Devils will be looking to take points wherever possible, but have lifted some of the pressure following an impressive 2-1 win at Anfield against nearest challengers Liverpool, widening the gap between fourth and fifth to five points.
