The Gunners are admirers of the Czech Republic international, who has found first-team opportunities limited at Stamford Bridge this season due to the emergence of Belgian youngster Thibaut Courtois as the club’s new number one.
Arsenal also have a dilemma in goal at the moment as Wojciech Szczesny’s dip in form and accusations of poor discipline after being found smoking after a defeat earlier in the season have led to him being axed by Wenger and replaced in goal by David Ospina.
Although the Colombian shot-stopper has performed well in Szczesny’s place, it seems Arsenal would still prefer to try their luck with a move for Cech to be their first choice in goal next season.
The long-serving Blues star has previously been regarded as one of the best in the world in his position, and seems unlikely to be content with continuing as a backup player for his current club.
