The euphoria that followed PSG’s victory over Chelsea in the Champions League evaporated on Sunday as the French champions were dealt a blow in their bid to retain their Ligue 1 crown.
A late goal from Bordeaux’s Diego Rolan condemned the capital club to a 3-2 away defeat.
PSG kick off the Ligue 1 weekend with a must-win home game against Lorient at the Parc des Princes, and despite the need to make up ground on Olympique Lyonnais, Blanc has maintained that last week’s defeat has not put any extra pressure on his side.
“I wouldn’t say that we’re under extra pressure,” the coach began, speaking to L’Equipe, “we are in the race with two or three other teams who can believe in the title.
“Above all, after Bordeaux, the objective is to get the three points and to guarantee a home victory in the championship, in front of our fans. We aren’t going further than that.”
The former France coach insisted that he was not feeling the strain of the title run-in.
“Personally, I’m not worried. There is always an urgency to take the points because we are second, two points behind Lyon. My team are facing Lorient, with respect, we must take three points!”
