GK – Joe Hart (Manchester City)
The England number one saved a penalty in the first meeting and was fantastic in the second as City crashed out at the hands of Barcelona, so good in fact that Lionel Messi labelled him a ‘phenomenon’.
RB – Dani Alves (Barcelona)
Solid performance from the Brazilian in both games.
CB – Leonardo Bonucci (Juventus)
Italian centre half was immense as the Serie A leaders won 3-0 in Germany against Borussia Dortmund to go into the hat for the quarters.
CB – Aymen Abdennour (AS Monaco)
The Tunisian was a rock in the first game at the Emirates and made a crucial block in the return leg just before half-time as the Ligue 1 outfit progressed.
LB – Nacho Monreal (Arsenal)
Replaced Kieran Gibbs for the second leg and played a huge part in both goals as Arsenal came close to pulling off a memorable comeback.
