Alves’ current deal with the La Liga leaders is set to expire at the end of the current campaign and is free to sign a pre-contract agreement elsewhere in Europe, but it is understood the player wishes to remain with the Catalan giants and will therefore snub a chance to move to the Premier League.
His performances over the season have reportedly impressed officials at the Nou Camp and talks over an deal are expected to take place in the near future.
The 31-year-old Brazilian international has been a major success since arriving from La Liga rivals Sevilla in 2008 for a reported fee of £23m.
In his six and a half year spell with Barca he has four La Liga titles to his name, two Champions Leagues, a Copa del Rey, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup winners medals, as has won the Spanish Super cup four times in six seasons.
