The UEFA Champions League’s last-16 round concluded tonight as Barcelona and Juventus booked their place in the quarter-finals, with Man City and Borussia Dortmund crashing out at the first knockout hurdle.
There was some outstanding individual performances on show in both games and we have aimed to put together the team of the night in Europe’s premier club competition.

RB) Stephan Lichtsteiner
Launched a number of counter attacks for Juvenutus in what was an outstanding European display from the Old Lady. The Swiss international also kept Marco Reus quiet, which is a credible feet.
CB) Leanardo Bonucci
Leader at the back for Juve as the threat of Pierre Aubameyang’s pace was thwarted by the experience of the Italian.
CB Gerard Pique
After a difficult season, it is fair to say that the real Pique has returned.
LB) Jordi Alba
Involved in a spat with Samir Nasri early, but didn’t let it distract him from the task in hand, constantly bursting down the left-hand side.
