The Red Devils were linked to the 20-year-old throughout the January transfer window, but it now seems that the Stamford Bridge outfit are in pole position to sign the Brazilian ace.
Deco played for the Blues between 2008 and 2010, making 57 appearances and scoring six goals. He was used as an intermediary between the two sides last month, but the Brazilian team asked for too much money.
Kenedy impressed for the Brazil Under 20s in the summer, and is likely to have instigated the interest in him there. Since then he has mainly featured from the bench for Fluminense, but still showed his class in those brief appearances with some awe inspiring goals.
