According to the Daily Mail, Real president Florentino Perez is currently leaning towards letting Ronaldo go, with Bale viewed as his long-term heir at the Bernabeu.
The two players are understood to have a frosty relationship at the club, and Ronaldo’s recent dip in form could see him axed at the end of this season.
United have been linked several times with a move to bring the Portuguese forward back to Old Trafford, and this news could mean they are successful in doing so this summer.
