Manchester United star David de Gea has been regarded as the best goalkeeper in the world by team-mate Victor Valdes, who is competing with his compatriot for the starting spot at Old Trafford.
Valdes was signed in January on a free transfer after the former Barcelona man impressed in training having recovered from a serious knee injury.
However, he is yet to make a start for the club this season due to the immense performances of De Gea.
Having a World Cup and three time Champions League winner on your bench is a luxury for any club, but it seems as though Valdes must bide his time before making his first appearance.

“But now David is at a very, very high performance level,” Valdes said (via Evening Standard)
“I think he is the most important goalkeeper in the world at the moment. So it is difficult [for me] to play and, of course, I must accept this.
“For me, the top [keeper] now is David. I see him every day in training. I watch him in every game, every week, and his performances right now are amazing.”
With a new contract not yet penned, De Gea’s future may lie away from Old Trafford, which would mean more chances for Valdes to stake a claim ,and that may be why Man United decided to sign a player of his stature.
