The Chilean international has seemingly had no trouble at all with getting settled into life in England, bagging himself 19 goals already.
And though Sanchez has a number of fellow Spanish speakers in the squad, including the likes of Mikel Arteta, Hector Bellerin, Nacho Monreal and Santi Cazorla, Wenger believes that learning to speak English fluently will benefit him massively.
“My little Spanish and we have a good Spanish clique who is becoming more important,” Wenger said.
“The Spanish language is very important now in my squad.
“So, to communicate with the other players, he has no problem.
“But sometimes I feel – to learn English – is a a hurdle that is too big. I want him to learn English because it’s important as well for his future life. He tries very hard.”
