That goal was Welbeck’s eighth of the campaign.
Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck has admitted that it was difficult knocking his hometown club Manchester United out of the FA Cup in the quarter-final at Old Trafford last night.
The England man moved to north London on deadline day and came back to haunt his old team after pouncing on an Antonio Valencia mistake and sent Arsenal to Wembley.
However, Welbeck was visibly moved by the whole occasion and said that it was difficult to inflict pain on a team he still supports.

“Manchester United is a club that means so much to me,” Welbeck told BBC Sport.
“I’m a fan and it’s hard to knock them out.”
During his period at the club, Welbeck never lifted the FA Cup and will no doubt look to rectify that with Arsenal this term.
