The Spanish manager, who retains strong ties with the Catalan outfit, has previously targeted Adama Traore, defender Martin Montoya and battler Sergi Roberto, and will hope to persuade Munir to make the short term move to Merseyside.
The teenager impressed when he broke into the first team set-up at the start of the season, leading to a senior Spanish national team call-up, but has since found it hard to retain a foothold in Luis Enrique’s starting eleven.
Munir made the most of the time Luis Suarez was suspended from action, netting on his La Liga debut, but hasn’t started a domestic league fixture since early January.
West Ham and Sunderland are also said to be tracking the teenager but Martinez will hope he can secure a season long loan deal for next term.
