Liverpool transfer news
Writing in his column for the Daily Mirror, the Scot praised Henderson’s improvement in form this season, but believes Gerrard is an irreplaceable member of the team.
While Dalglish expects Henderson to take the captain’s armband after Gerrard’s departure, he does not feel he can truly fill the void left by the veteran Reds midfielder.
“It is unfair to use the word ‘replace’ when you talk about Jordan, Steven Gerrard and the Liverpool captaincy,” Dalglish writes.
“He doesn’t replace Steven. Nobody will – you can forget ANYBODY coming in as a one-off replacement. He just takes over as captain when Steven leaves in the summer.”
