Manager Mauricio Pochettino has warned that striker Kane could suffer from burnout, but thinks the post-season trip won’t be detrimental to his players. Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Manchester City all have long haul journeys just weeks before the 2015/16 season starts.
If the 21-year-old plays all of the games left in the season then he could end up having taking part in over 50 fixtures by the end of the campaign.
The Argentine explained, “It was my decision. We will take one week after [our final game against Everton on 24 May]. It’s important because we’re trying to avoid going on tour during pre-season. It’s never proper for the team to go to Asia or America at the beginning of the season to spend time doing commercial business. We’d rather do it post-season.”
In their next match the North London club are up against QPR on Saturday, and need a victory in the race for the Premier League top four. Spurs are just six points off fourth placed Manchester United with a game in hand.
