The Uruguayan has been linked with a whole host of top clubs in recent months as he looks likely to be offloaded by PSG at the end of this season, with Chelsea emerging as surprise suitors.
With Jose Mourinho already having the likes of Diego Costa and Loic Remy to pick from upfront, there seems little need for Cavani as well, and it may be that United will end up being his next destination.
The Red Devils need to improve on the likes of Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie, with the former Napoli man looking a great option if he is made available.
