Their club president, Alejandro Rodriguez, has denied that Tigres will use the ‘blue pill’ as a measure to combat altitude sickness in the game against San Jose in Bolivia in the Copa Libertadores.
The game will take place at 3,700 metres above sea level in the city of San Jose de Oruro.
Rodriguez confirmed that the team’s medical staff will seek appropriate measures so that the elevation of Oruro doesn’t affect the side’s performance – but Viagra will not be one of them
“No (we will not use Viagra), our staff will take action and tell the players how to be well prepared. The players are athletes, they have the expected level of fat and oxygen consumption expected, everything is measured,” he said.
The game will be the sides third group game and will take place on 11th March. Tigres travel to River Plate for the second game next week.
