Olivier Giroud is looking to score his first Champions League goal of the season tonight…
Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has revealed that there is one thing he is looking forward to ahead of the Champions League tie – the competition’s theme music.
Giroud hasn’t featured in the Champions League since the first-leg of Arsenal’s qualifier in August against Besiktas. With a broken ankle in the following fixture at Everton robbing the Frenchman of the chance to appear in the group stages for Arsenal.
Despite coming back from his injury earlier than expected and being available for the club’s last two fixtures against Borussia Dortmund and Anderlecht, Giroud wasn’t registered for the group stages as he was initially ruled out until the new year.

“I haven’t played a Champions League match for a long time so I’m really pleased to come back in this competition, listen to its fantastic song and hopefully go through to the quarter-final,” Giroud told Arsenal.com.
“We need it as it has been long time since we reached that stage but we are facing tough opponents. Monaco have some really good young players, even if they don’t have a lot of Champions league experience.”
Scoring 11 goals in his last 13 starts, Giroud is one of the players on the pitch that can decide the tie.
Arsene Wenger will certainly be looking to his front-man to get among the goals, and hopefully give Arsenal a real advantage heading into the second leg.
