By all accounts, and perhaps surprisingly, Real Madrid are ready to sell Ronaldo with Man United ready to make a big money offer for the £180m rated Portuguese star.
The Old Trafford side may well be looking to bring in a big name signing as something of a ‘statement of intent’ and have the funds from the Premier League’s latest TV deal to help finance such a move.
Ronaldo has apparently fallen out with the Bernabeu side’s bosses with his recent birthday party celebrations, coming hours after Real Madrid had lost 4-0 to local rivals Atletico, no doubt exacerbating matters.
Man United sold Ronaldo to Real Madrid in a then world record £80m deal and the attacker has of course gone on to mature into one of the best players of his generation.
Since moving to the Spanish capital Ronaldo has racked up an astonishing 288 goals in 279 appearances though perhaps tellingly Real Madrid have won just one La Liga title in his five completed seasons at the club.
