The Bantams beat Sunderland 2-0 on Saturday to go through to the quarter-finals of the competition. The 47-year-old wants to face the Red Devils in the next round but disagrees with the chairman about where the match should be. He even believes that they could go even further than the last eight.
Parkinson said: “We would love Man United. The chairman will want to be away at a big Premier League club, but I want to be at home. If we get our approach right we have a chance against anyone. Keep the honesty and do the right things, play as a team. It is about individuals looking good in a team unit, No egos and then getting the rewards.
He added, “Today was a bonus game. Beating Chelsea gave us this. Next round the excitement intensifies, we are a game from Wembley. We will give it everything, try to attack at every chance, and walk off with our heads held high.”
The most surprising result of the League One club’s FA Cup run so far has been their 4-2 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. It was even more amazing considering the Blues’ almost spotless record at home this season. They will have to hope Preston North End don’t beat United on Monday evening if they’re to play them next.
