A certain Swedish legend behind the move…
David Luiz sealed a £50m switch to the French capital with Paris Saint-Germain last summer, in a world-record transfer fee for a defender, and the Brazilian has revealed Zlatan Ibrahimovic persuaded him towards the move.
PSG have a strong group of Brazilians in the side – with Thiago Silva, Marquinhos, Maxwell and Lucas all regulars – yet it was the legendary striker who told Luiz he “needed” to play for the Ligue 1 outfit.

The 27-year-old had this to say about Ibrahimovic:
“There are two Zlatans: one the media portray and then the real one,” Luiz was quoted by the Daily Mail.
“He was one of the big reasons that I chose to join Paris. When Chelsea played Paris he said to me during the game, you need to come and play with us next season.”
What’s more, the former Benfica star claims Mourinho’s men will have serious trouble containing the forward if he is on form in the Champions League last 16 tie on Tuesday night:
“He is one of the best players in the world, and a great guy. Of course Mourinho knows him well from Inter and will have a plan to try and stop him, but when Zlatan is on form he is unstoppable.”
