Ismael Valadez scored the only goal on the game in the 59th minute. The result is particularly embarrassing for Montreal who played a strong eleven, while Cruz Azul played youngsters and reserves due to it being the middle of the Liga MX season.
Cruz Azul are currently top of the Liga MX after 5 games. Montreal’s 2015 campaign starts in early March.
