Just two points separate Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal in the Premier League table going into Saturday’s North London Derby at White Hart Lane.

The fierce rivals are extremely well matched and it is very tough to predict which team will come out on top this weekend, and which will finish higher at the end of the season.

Both teams have some excellent players, but who would get picked if – in some twisted parallel universe – a manager could select men from both sides?

We reckon it would look something like this…

GK: Hugo Lloris (Spurs)

Not even Arsenal fans will argue that Lloris is the top goalkeeper in North London. The Frenchman was linked with the Gunners before he joined Spurs. Why Arsene Wenger never signed him, only he knows.

RB: Kyle Walker (Spurs)

Walker missed nine months of 2014 with a pelvic injury, but he is now starting to get back to his best. The 24-year-old will easily win back his place in the England team if he continues his current form.

He is comfortably better than Hector Bellerin and just ahead of Injury-plagued Frenchman Mathieu Debuchy.

LB: Kieran Gibbs (Arsenal)

Tottenham’s Danny Rose has been brilliant this season, but Gibbs is just ahead of him, according to England manager Roy Hodgson – and us.

CB: Laurent Koscielny (Arsenal)

Koscielny is a top-draw centre-back. Unfortunately for Arsenal, he is the only one at the Emirates. Per Mertesacker is just too error-prone, while Gabriel Paulista remains unproven in England.

CB: Jan Vertonghen (Spurs)

Vertonghen is another player Wenger should regret not signing.
