Sam Allardyce’s side had been linked with moves to bring in Spurs star Emmanuel Adebayor and Genk’s Kara Mbodj but in the end brought in no new faces on Monday.
The Upton Park side had hoped to land 30 year old Togo international, with his White Hart Lane employers so keen to loan out the attacker that they were willing to foot half his £100k a week wage demands, but the former Arsenal and Man City man turned down a move to any of the sides interested in his services.
On the plus side the East London side did retain the services of centre-back Winston Reid, at least until the end of the season, with the New Zealand international having been strongly linked with a January exit.
