Boca Juniors and River Plate will play once more, this time at the Malvinas Argentinas stadium in Mendoza. For River Plate the last game meant the end of a series of eight games without being defeated by Boca.
River will go into the game fresh from defeating Independiente 4-0 and winning the Ciudad de Mar de Plata Cup. It is likely they will pair Rodrigo Mora and Teofilo Gutierrez together up front, with Leonardo Pisculichi retaining his place in the midfield.
It seems that Boca manager Rodolfo Arruabarrena will use the same team, except for the replacement of Daniel ‘Cata’ Diaz with Fernando Gago. The game will also see the debut of their new central defender Marco Torsiglieri, who arrived on loan from Ukrainian club Metalist.
The two teams will fight for the Luis Nofal Cup, meaning that if there is a tie after ninety minutes the winner will be decided by a penalty shoot-out.
