Mourinho clearly not impressed by recent charges against him and his team…

Chelsea have cancelled a pre-match press conference ahead of their crucial Premier League clash with Manchester City, presumably in protest to recent charges by the FA against Jose Mourinho and Diego Costa.

Mourinho was fined £25,000 yesterday for comments he made after his side’s 1-1 draw with Southampton towards the end of December in which he suggested there was a campaign to influence referee decisions against the Blues.

This follows a further charge by the FA against Costa for violent conduct after an apparent stamp on Emre Can during the Blues’ 1-0 win over Liverpool in the Capital One Cup semi-final second leg at Stamford Bridge.

It appears the West Londoners are now staging a form of protest against these decision by English football’s governing body by refusing to hold a press conference ahead of their Premier League clash with the Citizens on Saturday.

It’s a key clash for both side’s with Mourinho’s men five points ahead of their second placed rivals and could extend their lead to eight with a win at Stamford Bridge.
