Sterling initially rejected a first conctract offer from the club because he felt that he was worth more than a dobuling of his weekly wage to a figure in the region of £70,000, the report suggests, but former Queens Park Rangers teenager Sterling also feels that the club’s latest offer is also not good enough.

It would appear that the Reds are going to have to up their offer to more than £100,000 per week if they are to ensure the long term future of Sterling at Anfield, something that would seem imperative considering the importance that Sterling has had to Brendan Rodgers’ side ever since he broke through into the Anfield first team.
