Liverpool earned a deserved 1-1 draw to take back to Stamford Bridge in a week’s time, as they were held by Chelsea in the first leg of their Capital One Cup semi-final. Eden Hazard opened the scoring from the penalty spot, before Raheem Sterling’s superb solo effort levelled the scores.

5) The Liverpool revival is for real
Brendan Rodgers’ side have now lost just one game in 15 in all competitions. While we are still not at our free-flowing, free-scoring best, we are improving all the time. The new signings have bedded in well over recent weeks and there are more reasons for optimism with every passing game. We’re still short a striker, but with Daniel Sturridge still to come back into the team, who knows what might still happen this season.
